Petrol around Lissabon currently costs roughly 1,79 EUR per litre.

Lisbon’s city center has parking shortages and high costs, often around €2–€4/hour in garages. Park-and-ride is generally the better option, especially if you want to avoid traffic and expensive central parking.

Lisbon has no congestion charge, but several bridge crossings and motorway approaches are tolled. Drivers leaving the city should expect tolls on many major routes.

Lisbon has a low-emission / emissions-controlled zone in parts of the city, and some older rental cars may be restricted. Make sure your rental meets the local requirements, especially for the city center.

Near Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, and the seaside cliffs of Cabo da Roca are classic scenic stops within easy reach.

Lisbon usually has a mild, wet winter and snow is very rare. Winter tyres are not required, though drivers heading inland to mountainous areas may encounter occasional winter conditions.

Lisbon has steep hills, tram lines, and very tight streets in older neighborhoods-give trams right of way and avoid entering narrow lanes unless necessary. Speed cameras and controlled parking zones are common, and traffic can be aggressive at rush hour.

The main airport is about 7 km from central Lissabon.

Petrol around Porto currently costs roughly 1,76 EUR per litre.

The main airport is about 11 km from central Porto.
